Have you heard of Damminix tick tubes? They are an ecologically sound way to control tick populations on your property, without harm to the environment. I recommend them all the time, as they really work. Basically the tubes deliver permethrin treated cotton which the tick's hosts (mice) use as nesting material, by which the ticks are killed (but the mice aren't harmed). You can get them at some garden enters or online at www.ticktubes.com.
